Steven Lynn Morris, known to many as Steve, passed away on June 10, 2024, in Pocatello, ID. He was born on August 16, 1949, in Arco, ID. Steve led a fulfilling life characterized by dedication and compassion.
Throughout his career, Steve displayed exceptional skill and commitment. He obtained his contractor and electrician's license, culminating in a career of over 40 years at Simplot Company. Even after retirement, he generously contributed to the community by undertaking part-time electrical work. He became frustrated later in life because of the physical limitations his declining health imposed.
Steve's educational journey was marked by active participation in various high school groups such as track, wrestling, debate, and music. His vibrant personality endeared him to all who crossed his path. Known for his willingness to help others without hesitation, Steve's amiable nature facilitated meaningful connections with individuals from all walks of life.
One of Steve's proudest accomplishments was overcoming challenges to become a grateful recovered alcoholic of 35 years. His resilience and determination served as an inspiration to many.
Outside of work and personal triumphs, Steve found true joy in spending time with his family. Whether camping, attending sporting events, traveling, or exploring new cuisines, he cherished every moment shared with his loved ones. A particular delight for Steve was engaging in antique and thrift store shopping adventures alongside his beloved wife, Janice.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents Arlis and Lena Morris, sister Eunice Bell, brother Lloyd Morris, and grandson Derik Lehman. He is survived by his devoted wife Janice Morris; sister Carol St. Croix (Connie); children: Richard Jackson (Ranae), Jodi Velasquez (Fidel), JuLene Gerami (Mehrdad), Martin Jackson (JiHyun), Tami Bennett (Brian), Sandi Lehman (Matthew), Kyle Jackson (Jamie), Traci Jackson, Kayla Forester (Jeff), Melissa Krisch (Raun); 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Services to commemorate Steve's remarkable life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Aberdeen Chapel in Aberdeen, ID. A visitation will take place on June 17, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Steve chose to be cremated and a private interment will be at a later date.
