Our dear Mom
After a long courageous battle with cancer our mother Shasta Kim Kirkpatrick ascended back to heaven with the angels. She was born November 11th, 1977 in Pocatello Idaho to our amazing grandparents Kim and Kim Kirpatrick.
Our mom, Shasta, spent the first 12 years of her life in Pocatello, Idaho with her family including her brother Jared Kirkpatrick of Victorville, California.
She enjoyed camping, fishing and boating. She also enjoyed reading and music. And as Tom Petty would say: âShe was a good girl who loved her mama, loved Jesus and her children too. She's a good girl, crazy bout Elvis. Loves music and her friends too.â
In the sixth grade our mom moved with her family to American Falls where she gained some her most precious friendships. She went to William Thomas Middle School and to American Falls High School where she did very well academically and was active in band. She also worked in Pocatello at the movie theater.
After High School she went to school in Astoria, Oregon where she met more of her lifelong friends. She came back to Idaho where she had and raised us. Our mom was hands down the best mom in the world.
We were fortunate enough to have her as a full-time mom. We were also lucky to share our mom with our dearest friends Ethan and Bella Jones, Hannan Cammer and Gabriel Wooten. She was also a caretaker for her grandmother Ruth Alldredge.
In June of 2015 she was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. She courageously fought the cancer until she tragically succumbed while holding our Nana's hands on May 9th, 2017.
We welcome all friends and family to her Memorial service on Saturday, May 13th, 2017 at 11 a.m. at The Church of Latter-day Saints Pocatello 18th ward building, 3444 Hawthorne on the corner of Eldridge and Hawthorne in Pocatello. A luncheon will follow.
Thank you,
Zachary R Glenn and Lilly T Kirkpatrick
In lieu of flowers financial donations toward the expenses of the funeral will be appreciated.
