Ronald Allyn Pitts 82 a proud veteran of the United States Air Force passed away May 7th, 2024 at the State Veterans Home in Pocatello Idaho. Ron was born April 26th, 1942 in Salt Lake City Utah to Raymond James & Esther Elizabeth Naefe Pitts.
Ron grew up in Aberdeen Idaho and attended Aberdeen school and was an exceptional basketball player for the Aberdeen High School Tigers.
At the age of 22 Ron enlisted in the USAF, as a ground equipment repairman, duties Ron performed were preventative maintenance and repair on generators, air conditioners, air compressors and other equipment that supported aircraft on the flightline, Ron received an honorable discharge in 1967 after serving 4 yrs.
After Ron returned home he worked at Jacks Conoco for a short time until 1969 when he went to work for Electric Motor Rewind where he worked on pump panels and repaired many single phase and 3 phase motors & serviced many pumps for local farmers, after 15 yrs. he quit and went to work for Westinghouse Electric for a few years until he got a job with the Bureau of Indian Affairs where he retired .
Ron had no children of his own, in 1983 Ron met his lifetime companion Cheryle and enjoyed her 2 children Pam & Randy as his own.
Ron also enjoyed being a grandpa to Heidi, Justin & Lucas.
Ron enjoyed fishing, and loved to go pheasant hunting, a good sports channel, BBQs with the family, telling jokes to the grandkids and his chocolate chip cookie cakes!
Ron is survived by his companion Cheryle and his sister Patricia (Jack Stone) 3 Nieces & 1 Nephew and many who called him Grandpa and Uncle Ron.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents.
