Rodney Vern Nelson(Rod) lived to be 78 yrs old. He lived in Idaho,Oregon, and Washington. In the past 10yrs he lived in Aberdeen where he grew up. Rod passed away from natural causes early afternoon on February 16 2024. Rod was born on May 10 1945 in Brigham City Utah to Melva Nelson(mother) and Vern Harvey Nelson(father). Rod has 3 siblings, Sandra Riley, Merrill Nelson, and Mike Nelson. Rod attended high school in Aberdeen then went to work for Union Pacific as an engineer. He then attended Clackamas County Community College where he earned a certificate. He then took a job with Hewlet Pachard as a technician. Rod loved computers and fishing. He was also a hobbiest that enjoyed model trains and flying R.C. helicopters. Rod is married to Margaret Nelson(Briggs). He has a son named Paul S. Nelson, and 3 step children named Brandie Myers, David Briggs, and Cassidy Briggs. Rod expressed to his wife that he did not want a funeral or service after his passing.
