“Bob” Robert Rizer, known for his strong work ethic and love for his family, passed away on June 23, 2024. Throughout his life, Robert held various jobs, including a decade at J.R. Simplot in the receiving department and several construction roles. However, it was working alongside his brother in roofing that truly brought him joy.
Born on May 31, 1940, life was marked by his unwavering devotion to his beloved wife, Peggy. Those who knew him well attest to the deep love and care he showered on her. His kind and rule-abiding nature made him a genuine and compassionate individual. Although he was mostly reserved, discussions about his favorite topics would light up his face.
Apart from work and family, Robert found solace in his hobbies. He shared a special bond with his daughter Tonya through their shared love for car shows. His interests ranged from old cars and trains to anything related to John Wayne. An avid treasure hunter, he cherished the thrill of exploring yard sales and thrift stores.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters; his brother; his son, Robert Lee Rizer II; and Little Bit, his loyal canine companion.
Robert's proudest achievement in life was undoubtedly his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will always be cherished by those who knew him.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of many years, Margaret-Peggy; their children Lee (Carolyn), Nova (Fred) Robinson, Tonya (Lonnie) Leslie; 14 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren with one more on the way; one great-great-grandson; and a cherished foster family member Kim Sandals.
In remembering Robert Rizer, we recall a man who exemplified dedication in all aspects of life - be it work, relationships with loved ones or pursuit of passions. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
