Richard Glenn passed away on June 18, 2024 in American Falls, Idaho. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on October 14, 1944, in Eureka, California to Jack Glenn and Anna Woodward and was the youngest of six children.
During his lifetime, Richard held various positions, including working as the head of sanitation at Lamb Weston, doing maintenance for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the American Falls Library, and briefly working at a shoe repair shop. He took immense pride in his work and was well-known for his dedication and hardworking spirit.
Richard's passion extended beyond work to his hobbies and interests. He found joy in working in his yard and collecting hats. He generously dedicated time to helping family members with their yards and enjoyed exploring different restaurants with his grandson Zach in search of the best dining spot in Pocatello. Buddy's Italian Restaurant became a cherished spot where they were regulars.
Richard was well known for his love of gardening, particularly cultivating roses. He not only excelled in caring for his own yard but also shared his expertise with the community, leaving behind a legacy of beauty through his roses.
In the close-knit community of American Falls, Richard was a beloved figure. His friendly demeanor and willingness to lend a helping hand led many to consider him family. It was hard to find anyone who did not know Richard or speak highly of him.
Richard is survived by his sister Bessie (Dan) Russ, sons Robert Glenn and Eric Glenn (Michelle Force), grandson Zachary (Noel) Glenn, and granddaughters Zonae Smith and Lillyana Kirkpatrick. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, and his wife, Kathleen. Richard and Zach shared a special relationship, with Richard caring for Zach more like a son than a grandson, and Zach admiring Richard more as a father than a grandfather.
Richard's memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.
A memorial service will be at a later date. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.davisrosemortuary.com.
