Lorin Ralph Roseberg, born July 30, 1941, was welcomed into the open arms of Jesus on Monday, February 17, 2025. He was the devoted husband to Nancy for 44 years and loving father to his three children Serena, Nicole and Andrew.
Lorin was a humorous bright light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was marked by love, compassion and an unwavering faith in God. His passing has created a void in the hearts of his family and friends. We invite everyone to remember him for the remarkable way he lived his life and the profound impact he had on those around him.
He was born to Otis and Johanna Schelske Roseberg in American Falls, Idaho. He attended school in American Falls, graduating in 1959. He attended Idaho State University from 1960 to 1961. In 1964 he joined the U.S. Army as a PFC E3 in Field Operations. He was honorably discharged in 1966.
He married Regina Roy in 1968 and they eventually welcomed a daughter, Serena. They later divorced. Lorin met Nancy Hoover through mutual friends and he stubbornly pursued her despite her strong willed independence. They were married on June 21, 1980. While Lorin decided one amazing daughter was enough, Nancy purposefully convinced him that more children would bless this beautiful family. They welcomed the spit-fire Nicole followed by mischievous Andrew.
Lorin worked in the parts industry in American Falls and was fondly known as the "parts guy." Throughout his career he was employed with Power County Implement, the Parts House, Idaho Ag Equipment, Country Chevrolet, Rick's Chevrolet; retiring from Hirning Chevrolet & GMC in 2004.
He was actively involved in his church and community serving in the Lions Club, Planning & Zoning, City Council, the Hospital Foundation and Church Councils.
Lorin was generous with his time and talents. He used his love for woodworking and furniture restoration to create not just useful things, but also meaningful gifts for his family. Helping with projects at his children's homes brought him much joy. Just like his mom, a passion for gardening, especially roses, enhanced the beauty of his home and the lives of those around him.
Upon Nancy's retirement in 2010, they began other adventures as "Snow Birds" in Indio, California. They had many wonderful years playing "in the desert" meeting new and marvelous friends and spending time with Nancy's family and Lorin's sister and brother-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Helen and her husband Ted Hagar, brother Leland and his wife Greta, brothers-in-law Stan Lehman and Richard Hoover and niece Sierra Hoover as well as many dear friends.
He is survived by his wife Nancy, daughters Serena (Russell) Haga, Nicole (Craig) Joseph and son Andrew (Autumn) Roseberg, sister Carol as well as seven grandchildren: Isayah, Jade, Brooke, Adreyana, Roman, Talia, Brock and many other loving family members and good friends.
A celebration of Lorin's life will be held on Monday, February 24 at Shepherd of the Falls Lutheran Church, 246 Lee St. beginning at 11:00 AM. The family will welcome friends at 10:00 AM. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Falls View Cemetery .
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations be made to Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, the American Heart Association, Power County Hospital or Power County EMS in Lorin's name.
Lorin's warmth, love, faith and selfless spirit will be deeply missed, but his legacy of kindness, service and humor will live on in all who knew him.
