Linda Bartel

Linda Ruth Friesen Bartel passed away May 8, 2015. Linda was born on February 12, 1915 in Hillsboro, Kansas to Abraham and Susanna Penner Friesen. On December 1, 1964 she married Milton Bartel of Aberdeen, Idaho. He died in 1989. Linda and Milton spent some of their life together farming and later living in town and doing custodial work at their church. Linda enjoyed gardening, needlework, and quilting and was active in the Mennonite Church.  In October of 2003 she moved to Spring Creek manor in American Falls, Idaho. In 2010 she moved to Harms Memorial Nursing Home.
     She is survived by one sister, Evelyn Harms, Moundridge, Kansas and one brother, Alvin Freisen, Hesston, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her husband Milton; her parents; two brothers, Carl Friesen and Ted Freisen; and one sister, Edna Reimer.
     Burial will be in the Homestead Cemetery.  A Memorial Service will be held at First Mennonite Church, 381 W. Washington, Aberdeen, Idaho on Tuesday, May 12 at 7:00 PM. Memorials may be given to the Camp Palisades program in care of First Mennonite Church, 381 W. Washington, Aberdeen, Idaho 83210.
