Kenneth Alan Ekstrom passed away peacefully on November 1, 2023.
Born January 25, 1960, in Pocatello, Bannock County, Idaho to Grant LaRoy Ekstrom and Edna Catherine (Hill) Ekstrom.
Kenneth grew up in Pocatello, going to school at Hawthorne Elementary and Hawthorne Junior High. Graduating from Pocatello High in 1979. He attended Idaho State University in Law Enforcement. He worked as a law enforcement officer in Aberdeen, Idaho. He worked for Simplot's maintenance for 31 years. He ended his work career working for the City of Aberdeen, retiring in February of 2023. He found the love of his life in the Philippines. He took his first and only airplane ride to go to the Philippines to meet Elsie and her family. He married Elise Pahugot (Awa) Ekstrom in the Idaho Falls Temple on December 13, 2008, where they continued to live in the American Falls/Aberdeen area. They were blessed with a son, Mathew Alan Ekstrom, on March 23, 2010.
He was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
He had a love for the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, and doing all things with his family. Especially his nieces and nephews in his early years. He loved going to the desert to teach Elsie and Mathew how to shoot a gun and how to hunt. He had a great love for Family history and ancestors, finding historical locations, looking for Grandpa lost mine.
He was preceded in death by his niece Jessica Mary Monson and His father Grant LaRoy Ekstrom. Survived by his mother Edna Catherine Ekstrom, Catherine Ann Durham (sister), William Grant Ekstrom (brother), Scott Lee Ekstrom (brother, spouse, Cheryl) Karen Lynne Monson (Twin Sister, spouse, Craig), Michelle Ruth Parks (sister, spouse, Dave), beloved nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Malad, Idaho. Starting at 10:00 am to 11:00 am, on Friday November 10, 2023, followed by family prayer.

Graveside Services will be at the St. Johns Cemetery. Services at 12:00 am. Luncheon to be served to family and friends after graveside services at the same church as the viewing. Condolences may be shared at www.DavisRoseMortuary.com.
