Joan Carol Wahl

Joan Carol (West) Wahl, 71, passed away on September 30, 2011 at home. 

Joan was born September 7, 1940 in Crofton, NE to Lester W. and Phyllis L. (Lawyer) West.  She graduated McLoughlin Union High School in Milton-Freewater, OR.  Joan married Don Gatz and they had 2 daughters.  They were later divorced.  She married Roger Wahl in September 1983.

Joan loved to bowl and was a member of various bowling leagues.  She loved to crochet and do plastic canvas crafts.  She enjoyed sharing her crafts with her friends and family. 

Joan was a tour guide at the Fort Hall Replica in Pocatello.  She loved learning the history and loved the people she worked with.

Her greatest joy was her grandson Hank.  She looked forward to him coming to visit in the summers.  One of her proudest moments was attending his high school graduation in 2009.  She was so very proud of him. 

Joan is survived by her daughter, Wendy Gustafson, Gillette, WY, grandson, Hank Gustafson, Gillette, WY, brother James West, CA, 1 niece, 1 nephew.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Sandy, parents and husband.

The  memorial services will be October 22, 2011 at 1:00pm at the Fallsview Cemetery.  Condolences may be left at www.davisrosemortuary.com or sent to Wendy Gustafson 9951 S. Hwy 59 # 1, Gillette, WY 82718.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the charity of choice.
