Jesus Castillo

June 7, 1943-November 11, 2019

Jesus Castillo (76) passed away, peacefully, surrounded by his family, Monday, November 11, 2019 in American Falls, Idaho. He was born on June 7, 1943 to Ladislado and Francisca Moreno Castillo in Cd. Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico.

Many knew him by "Chuy" or "Don Chuy." When we say many, we really mean MANY. There wasn't a place he could go without bumping into someone he knew and would stop to talk with them for hours. His family teased him and would tell him they couldn't take him anywhere because the errand would be longer than what they wanted it to be.

On September 16, 1965 he married his beloved wife, Francisca Ramirez Castillo. Together they have 6 children; Jesus (Maria) Castillo, Raul Castillo, Alma (Joe) Garcia, Claudia (Adrian) Carrillo, Imelda (Marco) Torres, and Rosie (Juan) Huerta. As well as 10 grandchildren; Jessica, Christina, Julia, Joey, Emilio, Rudy, Gina, Delia, Jesus, and Jacob. And 9 great-grandchildren; Raul, Lina, Zulema, Jasmine, Mireya, Valeria, Zoey, Elizabeth, and Joziah.

In 1975, Jesus migrated with his family to the United States. He soon met Clarence and Virginia Gohl who were the first to offer him and his family a new opportunity in the US. After many years of working for Clarence, Jesus, went to work for Pahl Farms for the remaining years before retirement. Even after retirement he remained close with the Gohl and Pahl family. He was admired for his great work ethic and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.

Jesus had a passion for Baseball. In his earlier years, he and his close friend "Flaco" formed a team league and enjoyed many weekends playing their heart out. You could always catch him watching the latest MLB games on tv. In his later years, he became a patient fisherman. There were times where he wouldn't catch a single fish but as always, made a friend out on the reservoir who would give him a fish to bring home. And when he did catch a fish, he was sure to share it with someone.

Aside from baseball and fishing, Jesus loved to dance and make people laugh. He was always trying out the latest dance moves with his big ole sombrero or taking his teeth out to scare his grandkids. Gardening was also a great past time he loved to do. He had the most beautiful rose bushes and from time to time would clip some, put them in a vase with water, and give them to his wife.

Jesus recognized Christ as his Savior and always welcomed anyone to pray for him.

He is so loved and will be missed so much. He was sure to leave an impression in everyone's lives, especially his family. Every grandchild and great grandchild had a special place in his heart. His children were his world. Through them his spirit lives and will always be remembered.

He will finally be reunited with his wife, mother, and father, as well as siblings and other close family members. We are sure he is dancing away with his "viejita." We invite everyone to join us for services, honoring his life here on earth and celebrate his new life in heaven. Viewing will be held on Friday Nov. 15, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in American Falls, Idaho, with a rosary at 7:00 p.m.  to follow. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, Nov. 16 at 12:00 noon   with a viewing at 11:00 a.m.  at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
