Jessie Marion Combs

Jessie Marion Combs, 68 of American Falls, Idaho died September 29, 2011.  Jessie was born on October 31, 1942 in San Diego, California to Robert and Lois Clark McDonald.  After her father got out of the military the family moved back to Salmon, Idaho.  Jessie grew up in Salmon and graduated from Salmon High School.  She married Walter “Ernie” Combs in 1961.  They lived in Challis, Pocatello and American Falls.

 

Jessie has been writing since childhood.  She is a mother, widow, Christian, artist, poet.  She loves children, birds, flowers, family, Jesus and Mary and being close to the earth and nature.  She is a distinguished member of the International Society of Poets.  She has nine books from the National Library of Poetry with her poems published in them.  She has two books from the World of Poetry Press with poems published in them.  Philosophical statement:  “Poetry is always in my heart waiting to be born and gives expression or soars above my troubles and confinements, lifting my heart to God.”

 

She is survived by her 11 children, Laurie, Walter, Joe, Pete, Mary, Susan, Dan, John, Therese, Patty and Elizabeth; 24 grandchildren & 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Bob, sister Chris and lots of wonderful friends.

 

Preceded in death by her parents and husband Ernie.

 

The rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday October 5, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 352 Roosevelt, American Falls, Idaho.  The visitation will follow from 6:30 to 8 p.m.  The Mass of Resurrection will start at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2011.   Interment will follow at Falls View Cemetery.  Condolences and memories may be shared at www.davisrosemortuary.com.
