Glenn Richard Long, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, was born on April 9, 1944, in American Falls, Idaho. He passed away peacefully at home on August 29, 2024, at the age of 80. He left us too early but went to be with his best friend and loving wife, with whom he shared 52 years.
Glenn graduated high school in American Falls. He was raised in Arbon Valley on the Estep homestead by his grandparents. The family would move to town during winters to ensure the children could attend school.
After high school Glenn proudly joined the Navy (1963-1967), his dedication was honored with several medals, including the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Armored Forces Expeditionary Medal for his time spent in Vietnam. His commitment to duty reflected his strong character and patriotic spirit.
Glenn was proud of his two sons, GR and Luke. His family continued to grow with the addition of grandchildren, Ashley Booth (Bram), Brandon Long (Hailey), Karlee Long, and McKenzie Long. He cherished the time spent with them, and undoubtedly loved his grandchildren.
Glenn leaves behind a loving family, his sons, GR (Kelli) and Luke (Corinne), along with his treasured grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Dorris Garrison, Louise Hawker, Shirley Kendall, and his brother Dell Hayden.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Pegi, mother, Florence, and brothers, Arnie, Gale, and John.
A visitation to honor Glenn will take place on September 6, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Davis-Rose Funeral Home, located at 170 Idaho Street, American Falls, Idaho. Following the visitation, a graveside service with Military Honors will be held at Falls View Cemetery, 2938 McKinley Rd, American Falls, Idaho, starting at 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
