Fay Nielson Ralphs, 81, passed away from this life on Friday, March 18, 2022, surrounded by her family. Fay was born April 28, 1940, to Hyrum Carl Nielson Jr. and Nettie Shumway Nielson of Preston, Idaho. She was the eldest of six children. She served a Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ to the Brazil South Mission. Fay graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education and a minor in Library at Utah State University. Fay married Reynold Lee Ralphs in the Logan, Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on June 26, 1964.
Fay is survived by her husband Reynold of 58 years and 7 of their children, Trina Park (Steve), Lee Ralphs (Pamela), Julie Haroldsen (Shane), Paul Ralphs (Simonette), Sue Ellen Dube (Gregg), Karen Dube (Brian) and Owen Ralphs, 23 grandchildren: her siblings, Craig Nielson, Maurice Nielson, Lona Mitchell, Stacey Nielson and Christine Hobbs. She was preceded in death by her parents; son Carl; two sisters-in-law, Rosie and Marsha; brother-in-law Bob; niece Sarah Beth; and nephew Cam.
Fay had a great love for God's creations on this earth and the beauty of the outdoors. She enjoyed relaxing in Island Park at her son’s place and going through Yellowstone and the surrounding areas. She never could get enough. She would go with her husband for joy rides, soda runs, and tagging along on job errands. She was a person many looked up to and would always keep everyone on track to forgive, be patient and kind. She loved her family and all her grandkids with a passion, even when distance was between them. She would make anyone feel at home and welcome anytime they would stop by and make sure they had some good food in their bellies.
Fay has worked hard all her life. She was a strong person physically, mentally and spiritually. She was the light of her family. Her light in this world will not be replaced, but we will hold the memories, her example and her love with us as we continue the journey without her. We know she will carry on as our biggest supporter in the heavens as she will always be looking over and cheering for all her family, friends, and loved ones wherever they may be.
