Evangelina Ortiz Bonilla

Evangelina (Eva) Ortiz Bonilla, 67, returned to her Heavenly Father March 5, 2019. She was born January 16, 1952 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Enrique and Josefina Bonilla. She is survived by her nine siblings: Hector, Rosa, Ramon, Cruz, Olivia, Enrique, Chayo, Paco and Cesar. Eva came to the United States at the age of 23, ultimately residing in American Falls, Idaho.

Eva was a devoted housewife to the late Alfredo Cruz Sr. She is survived by her children Angie Saiz, Abe Ortiz, Cindy Ortiz, Adrian Ortiz, Jessenia Cruz-Ortiz, and Lupita Cruz. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, whom she loved very, very much. Eva passionately enjoyed raising her family. She also, happily raised numerous farm animals year after year with Alfredo. She loved the outdoors very much. When raising her children, she often would be found taking them on walks amongst the miles of fields in the open country space.

Eva was always intrigued by adventures and rarely missed an opportunity to create one. She also enjoyed cooking and the gathering of the family for any occasion. Eva cherished her time with family and friends. She enjoyed laughing and her playful character instantly lit up any room. Her smile was so contagious that one would often find themselves smiling instantaneously or suddenly laughing at any unpredicted moment all because of her silly remarks. Eva was certainly one of the most clever, sharp-witted persons you’d ever come across. She had so much stored up her sleeve. Her endless supply of humorous statements were evident up until her passing. She sure would make you laugh! Her pleasant, happy vibrant spirit shall continue to light this world as far as the the sunlight may reach. Eva will be deeply missed.

A viewing will be held at Davis-Rose Mortuary March 12, 2019 from 6-7pm, followed by a Celebration of Life ceremony.
