Emma Jean Rowe

Emma Jean Rowe 74, passed away at her home, Sunday, February 17, 2013. 

            Emma was born March 25, 1938, in American Falls, Idaho, to Edward Rast and Emma Maria Ruff.  She graduated from American Falls, High School in 1956.  Emma Jean married Raymond B. Rowe August 7, 1957, and together they had four children: Cindy, Carol, Miles and Charlene. 

            Emma was a very active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.  She served on many committees and enjoyed worship and Bible studies.

            Emma was a wonderful homemaker, talented cake decorator, excellent seamstress, and beautiful quilt maker.  She enjoyed reading, traveling, quilting, card making, and cake decorating (she was taught by Betty Newman May), belonging to the ICES (International Cake Exploration Society) and was the Idaho Representative for many years, traveling to many cake decorating conventions.  Emma also enjoyed spending time with her friends, family, and grandchildren.

            She is survived by her husband, Raymond B. Rowe; sister, Elaine Havlicak, sister, Ella Rast, and brother Harold Rast.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Ivan Rast.

            She is also survived by her daughter, Cindy (Joe) Phillips of Boise; daughter, Carol (Howard) Classen of Pocatello; son, Miles Rowe of American Falls and daughter, Charlene (Steve) Gallo of Prescott, Arizona.

            Emma was very proud of all her 9 grandchildren; Corey Magee, Emma Phillips, Tyler (Haley) Rowe, Taryn Rowe, Jennilee Claassen, Ryan Claassen, Brianna Gallo, Katelyn Gallo, and Christina Gallo. 

            The memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2013 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 656 Tyhee Avenue, American Falls, Idaho.  Condolences and memories may be shared at www.davisrosemortuary.com.
