Elva Elmira Kirtley

Elva Elmira "Phillips" Kirtley passed away February 10. 2013.  Emma Elmira "Wheeler" Phillips and James Burt Phillips welcomed Elva into their home September 15, 1925.  The Aberdeen residence was shared with her siblings, Narvel, Lavoy, Lavern, Leon, Gereld, and Donny Phillips. She had quite an adventure growing up with all her brothers. I guess you might say she was a tom boy, but she loved it.  Elva graduated from Aberdeen High School in May of 1940, and took a business course at Idaho State University. After graduating, she was employer at Garret Fright-line, as a secretary.
Cave James Kirtley took Elva to wife on February 14, 1947, only after he finally convinced her that he was the one.  Together they had seven children, RaNae Paquette, Teresa Bybee, Mary Houston, Wendell Kirtley, Tom Kirtley, Kren Guevarra, and Linda Syphus.  Love surrounded her with nineteen grand children and twenty five great-grand children.  Elva loved to read, crochet, and play with her grandchildren.  Camping, fishing and swinging on her backyard swing are a few things she enjoyed doing.  She had many opportunities to serve in her church calling. She loved the LORD as she did her family. While being employed at Lamb Weston for thirty years, she made many friends, and just loved life.  Her loving nature has touched many lives, and has made those lives much richer.  Mom, wife, friend, you will be greatly missed.  Know that we all love you.
The funeral serves will be at, 11:00 a.m. Sat., Feb 16, 2013 at The Church of  Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 650 Pocatello Ave, American Falls.  The visitation will be Fri. Feb 15th from 6-8 p.m. at Davis-Rose Mortuary, 170 Idaho St. American Falls and Sat. from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service.  Condolences and memories may be shared at www.davisrosemortuary.com.
