Dorothy Ruth Montross, 72, of American Falls, passed away January 5, 2017.
Ruth was born March 27, 1944 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Chester Lynn and Dorothy Grace Wortley. She grew up in Howe, Spencer, and Darlinton, Idaho.
Ruth Graduated from Butte County High school in 1962.
She met and married Jessie James Montross (1966) and raised her family in American Falls. Jessie and Ruth divorced in 1991. They had 4 sons, James, Shane, Michael, and Shannon.
Ruth was employed at Lamb Weston in American Falls, ID for over 30 years until she retired. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Ruth loved the outdoors, spending time in the woods; camping, fishing, and hunting. She also loved gardening, quilting, baking, yard sale-ing and most of all, her family.
She struggled with Parkinsons disease the last few years of her life and it frustrated her that her body couldnât keep up with her independent personality.
Ruth is survived by her brother Tommy (Reta) Wortley, sister Marie (Ron) Schmidtgal, 3 sons: James (Beth) Montross, Shane (Corey) Montross, and Shannon (Jalene) Montross, 12 grandchildren: Amanda, Brianna, Drew, Jordan Andrew (Katie), Jordan Kay, Dallas, Michael, Spencer, Preston, Saharra, Jeramiah, Cai Dean, and Logan, and 3 great grandchildren: Jenessa, Andrew, and Bently.
The Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM Friday January 13, 2017 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, AF 1st Ward, 111 Church Pl., American Falls, ID.
