Jimmie Miller

Joseph James (Jimmie) Miller, 90 of Pocatello passed away on October 22, 2021 at his home. Jimmie was born on June 14, 1931 to Joseph and Marilla Miller, in St. Anthony, Id. He was the second oldest of six children: Gwen, Marianne, Marvin, Merlin and Donald. He grew up in Pocatello and graduated from Pocatello High School. Where he took up boxing. After graduation he served in the Army.

He met the love of his life when they met at the Deleta. Jimmie and Barbara were married on August 2, 1954 and later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. From this marriage came nine children: Leo (Lynda) Miller, Roger (Karyn) Miller, Connie (Melvin) Clark, Merlin (Yvette) Miller, Quintin (Shauna) Miller, Kenneth, Rusty, Robert (Shani) Miller and Denice Miller. He was a devoted and loving father. He taught us to work. Work First, Play Last! His devotion to work lead him in many directions as a milkman, dog catcher, ranch hand, cleaning the Scout office, cleaning the Highland Seminary building, Simplot Foreman, ISU janitor.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in many callings and enjoyed working in the temple cafeteria. Jimmie and Barbara also were able to serve a mission in Kirtland Ohio. We wish him well on his journey. Especially want to thank all who cared for Dad so he could stay in his home. The Doctor and nurses at Encompass Home Health, Rusty, Samantha and Ben for watching and caring for him. He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Marilla, his wife Barbara, three siblings Gwen. Marvin and Marianne, his son Roger and two grandchildren Tyrell and Kaylie Miller. He has 34 grandchildren and 75 great grandchildren.

Visitation 6:30-8:00 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4775 Hawthorne Rd , Chubbuck, Idaho. The graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Rest Lawn Cemetery, Pocatello, Idaho. The service will be live streamed at www.davisrosemortuary.com.
